Presents the results of a five-year systematic bird monitoring programme across Kerala, covering habitat-specific distribution and abundance of bird species. One of the most comprehensive avian atlases produced for a region in South Asia. Conducted as part of a WWF-India citizen science initiative involving hundreds of field observers.
Examines variation in nest material composition and its consequences for breeding success in Blue Tits (Cyanistes caeruleus). Drawing on nest box monitoring data from the Scottish Centre for Ecology, the study compares clutch size, hatching success and chick condition across nests containing differing proportions of natural and synthetic materials. Conducted during MRes Research at the University of Glasgow.
Describes and validates a non-invasive methodological pipeline for capturing and quantifying physiological and behavioural responses in wild passerine birds using thermal infrared cameras. Developed during research on urban-rural ecological gradients at Liverpool John Moores University, with potential applications in wildlife monitoring, stress physiology and animal welfare research.
